Description

Product Details

The thermostat regulates coolant flow based on engine temperature to maintain proper operating conditions.

  • When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed to accelerate warm-up.
  • Once operating temperature is reached, it opens to allow coolant flow through the engine block.
  • A thermostat stuck closed can cause overheating and lack of warm air from the heater.
  • A thermostat stuck open may prevent the engine from reaching proper operating temperature.

Replacing a faulty thermostat will restore cooling efficiency and engine performance. During replacement, coolant loss is inevitable—be sure to use the correct fluid for your vehicle. It is also recommended to replace the thermostat housing, as the stock plastic versions are prone to warping or breaking during removal.

This unit includes the required sealing O-ring for proper installation.
